Memorandum of acknowledgment, 22 November, . 271 Wolfe of Camfer to John Hawle and Thomas Asshenden of Receipt for 401. 13s. 4d. in full payment for four tuns of of Ja Rochele taken in March last out of the holke called le of Middelburgh, William Beek master, in the race (trade) Maheu in Brittany by Perkyn Lauer master of the great barge la Trinite of Dertmuth and his companions, acquittance of said John and Thomas, owners of the said barge, the said Perkyn his companions, and release of all actions real and personal, all and demands against them. Dated London, 2 November 10 Il. SLrench. of acknowledgment, 3 November. that on Tuesday after St. Luke, 23 October this year, the first hour Michael de la Pole earl of Suffolk in a chamber the privy palace at Westminster delivered to the king the seal sealed up in a leathern bag under his own seal, praying to of the office of chancellor, and the king took it in his own ; and on Wednesday 24 October about the sixth hour in the palace, in presence of William archbishop of Canterbury, Alexander of York, William bishop of Winchester, Th. bishop of Edmund duke of York and Thomas duke of Gloucestre and great men, the king delivered the seal in the said bag to Th. of Ely, having taken of him an oath truly to perform the office and caused it to be taken with him to his lodging. And day straightway after sunrise in the great hall of Westminster place appointed for the chancery the bishop of Ely being caused the bag to be opened, the seal drawn forth, and charters, letters patent and writs in furtherance of suitors to as the manner is, in presence of the clerks of chancery and others, thenceforward daily exercising the said office. de Waltham archdeacon of Richemond, John de Burton late. parson of Dunton, William de Bloxham late parson of John Lyseux and Richard de Batheleye to Edmund of York, Robert de Plesyngton knight and John Parker, their and assigns. Charter of demise of all lands, rents and services Welde, Gyng Rauf and the hamlet of Brendewode which grantors had by feoffment of Robert de Muskham clerk. Witnesses : Marny, John de Gildesburgh knights, Walter Southous, Stephen Kent, William atte Wode. Dated Brendewode, 23 October II. of acknowledgment by the said archdeacon, John, and John, 7 November. that the acknowledgment of John de Burton was by the chancellor, 7 November. Benham of Edmundusthorpe in the parish of Kyngysclere Suthampton to Sir Thomas Holand earl of Kent and lord Wake, Dynele, William Ryver, John Kent, John Felice, John Oweyn, Stapulforde, John Donet and Roger Hunte clerk, their heirs assigns. Quitclaim of the manor of Staunton fitz Herberde by co. Wiltesir, and the advowson of Staunton church thereupon. Witnesses: Nicholas Brembre then mayor
