Order to remove the king's meddle no further with the manors of Hemenhale and the hundred of Disse, the advowson of Disse excepted, to Philippa late the wife of Walter Fitz Wauter knight thereof taken; as the king has learned by inquisition, the escheator, that the said Walter at his death held the in chief by knight service as of the barony of Fitz Wauter enfeoffed with her, by gift of Richard de Sutton knight, de Upston clerk, John Bataille and John Stowe made with licence to them and the heirs male of the said Walter's and the king has taken the fealty of the said Philippa. same. Like order, mutatis mutandis, concerning the manor held in chief by knight service, whereof the said Walter his death made a feoffment to Clement Spice for life. Fitz Richard escheator in Essex.
