To John Bygod escheator in Yorkshire. Order, upon petition of Thomas de Neville and Joan his wife, to give them livery of the advowson of Treton church ; as it was found by inquisition, taken before Thomas Musgrave the late king's escheator, that Thomas de Fournyvalle deceased, father of Wiliam de Fournyvalle deceased tenant in chief, about the feast of St. Andrew 12 Edward III gave the manor and advowson of Treton to Robert de Boseville and Joan his wife for their lives, rendering one rose a year for the first six years and 100 marks a year after that term, that the gift was made by collusion to debar the late king from the issues and profits of the manor during the nonage of the grantor's heir, and that the manor is worth 201. a year ; and by virtue of that inquisition the said advowson especially was seized into the late king's hand, and although the age has been proved of Joan daughter and heir of the said William, whom Thomas de Neville has taken to wife, and on 12 February 8 Richard II livery was given to her and her husband in her right of the said advowson, among other advowsons of the said William, they fear that the same may hereafter be impeached by reason of the seizure aforesaid ; and for half a mark by them paid in the hanaper the king has pardoned the trespass, fraud and collusion aforesaid.
